Saint Misbehavin' Premiers at SXSW

Last night, at the opening party, was the first night Wavy Gravy and Mrs. Jahanarah Gravy were out on the town at the SXSW Film Festival where St. Misbehavin' is due to premier today at 4:30. The documentary of his life has been in the making for 10 years, directed by Michelle Esrick, a first time director and many of their friends and family are in town for this remarkable event. For years I have been documenting Wavy's life and much of that documentation is now in this film and I am so pleased. They even used my photo of him in front of the American peace flag as their poster.

After the screening tonight they are throwing a big party for Wavy and Jah.

Dig it man... today is the big day for all of us!

Lisa Law loving life in Yelapa!!

Sacred Chant Retreat

The staff has been arriving for a few days and each day they will do sadana at 5 Am on the beach in front of the hotel. Classes start today at 3 PM.

I met with them as they were eating lunch at the hotel Laugunita and we reminisced about the beginnings of 3HO and went through my book which has a photo of Snatam Kaur's dad at the Holy Man Jam. Her mom is on the left and the woman standing in the middle is Larry's sister. The Sikh in the middle sings with Guru Singh, Guru Genesha Singh.

They are doing five days of retreat with a bit of Yoga thrown in. They have rented the entire Laugunita Hotel and the staff have the houses behind along the path up river. Everyone cleaned up their places and vacated so they could have their rooms. It is quite the deal here and looks like it will be a lot of fun.
